Terms of Service
Effective June 10, 2026. Plain English where the law allows it. These terms cover this website and the software we sell.
1. Who we are
"Park Street Post," "we," and "us" mean Park Street Post, Inc., a post-production company in Burbank, California. These terms apply to parkstreetpostsoftware.com and to the software we publish, including AAF Look. By using the site or the software, you agree to them.
2. Purchases and our merchant of record
Paid software is sold through Paddle, our merchant of record. When you buy, the transaction is legally a sale by Paddle: Paddle processes your payment, collects and remits applicable sales tax and VAT, and issues your receipt and invoice. Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms apply to the checkout itself. We never see or store your card details.
3. Your software license
When you purchase AAF Look (or any paid Park Street Post software), you get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use that major version of the software on Macs you personally use. The license includes all updates within that major version. A future major version may be a separate purchase; your license never stops working for the version you bought.
The license is delivered as a license file in your name. Keep it like the personal thing it is: do not publish it, share it outside your own machines, or resell it. If a license is refunded or obtained fraudulently, we may deactivate it in future software updates.
4. Trial
AAF Look includes a 14-day free trial of the complete app. No account, no payment details, no obligation. When the trial ends, the app asks you to buy a license; nothing on your machine is touched beyond that.
5. What you agree not to do
- Share, publish, or resell license files or license keys.
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent the licensing mechanism, except as permitted by applicable law.
- Misrepresent your affiliation with Park Street Post or use our name and marks without permission.
- Use the site or software in violation of applicable law.
6. Free and open-source tools
We also publish free tools (including AAF Browser, aafinfo, and FinalPass), hosted on our studio site at parkstreetpost.com/software. They are released under their own open-source licenses, stated in their repositories. Those licenses govern your use of those tools; nothing in these terms narrows the rights they grant you.
7. Your files are yours
Our software runs locally on your machine. Your media, AAF files, and reports stay on your machine and are never transmitted to us. Reports produced by our software are informational: for critical deliverables, verify against your editorial and delivery requirements before relying on any report.
8. Disclaimer of warranty
The site and the software are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software will be error-free or uninterrupted. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Park Street Post, Inc. will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or productions, arising from your use of the site or software. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the software in the twelve months before the claim arose.
10. Changes
We may update these terms as the software and the law evolve. The effective date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be noted here. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Venue for any dispute is Los Angeles County, California.
