MarkdownBeautiful Privacy Policy
Effective September 24, 2026. The short version: MarkdownBeautiful collects nothing. Your documents stay on your Mac, and the app has no account, no analytics, and no servers of its own.
1. Who this covers
This policy covers MarkdownBeautiful for macOS and its Quick Look preview and Finder thumbnail extensions, published by Park Street Post, Inc. (Burbank, California). This website has its own privacy policy.
2. Your documents
The app reads the files you open and renders them on your Mac. Document contents are never uploaded, and nothing about them is sent to us or to anyone else.
3. No accounts, tracking, or analytics
There is no sign-in, no telemetry, no usage analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking code. The app does not know who you are or how you use it.
4. Network access
The app connects to the internet only to load remote images and other resources that a document you open refers to, the same way a web browser would. Those requests go directly to the servers named in the document. To prevent them, turn off Load images from the web in MarkdownBeautiful → Settings… → Rendering; documents then can't contact any website. Finder thumbnails never use the network. Links you click open in your default browser or app.
5. Settings and folder permissions
Your preferences, reading positions, and the folders you allow the app
to read are stored only on your Mac. Preferences are in
~/Library/Group Containers/93JZXCM7SL.com.parkstreetpost.markdownbeautiful,
shared with the app's extensions so previews match the app. Reading
positions and folder permissions are in
~/Library/Containers/com.parkstreetpost.markdownbeautiful.
macOS keeps these folders when you delete the app; delete them too to
remove this data. You can also remove folder permissions at any time in
MarkdownBeautiful → Settings… → Folder
Access.
6. Purchases
MarkdownBeautiful is sold through the Mac App Store, and Apple processes the purchase under Apple's privacy policy. Apple does not share your name, email address, or payment details with us.
7. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it. Questions: support@parkstreetpostsoftware.com.
